March Storm Petition Appeal Fund Details » Donate Online
Central to the NSS space political outreach and education programs are the annual March Storm and Home
District Congressional Visits, also known as Fall Fury. These activities make it possible for space enthusiasts
from around the country to meet with elected officials and their staffs to discuss matters of space policy.
March Storm is the premiere annual citizen-run space advocacy event. Each March, space enthusiasts from
around the country are brought together in Washington DC to advocate on behalf of space exploration by meeting
with senators, representatives, and their staffs. Developed by the Alliance for Space Development, this annual
DC event uses policy positions developed jointly by the National Space Society, Space Frontier Foundation,
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, and others.
NSS also plays a key role in a second annual space policy activity. For the Home District Congressional Visits,
also known as Fall Fury, NSS, in conjunction with the Alliance for Space Development, works with space activists
in their home communities to coordinate nation-wide meetings with senators, representatives, and congressional
staff in their home district offices. This annual event was created to accommodate individuals who are otherwise
unable to travel to Washington DC to participate in March Storm - with the meetings scheduled based on the
participant's availability.
In addition to March Storm and Fall Fury, NSS advocates on the Hill via the NSS DC Representative who plays a
key role in developing NSS legislative strategy, representing NSS at DC events, attending space-related hearings,
doing organizational work for March Storm, and, most importantly, holding regular meetings with key Representatives,
Senators, and staffers.
This fund is also used to cover the costs of printing, mailing, collecting, and delivering to Congress your
signed petition cards, which bring your voice to Washington DC in a way that gets the maximum attention.
Don't forget to sign them and mail them in.
Further, donations made in support of NSS advocacy activities are used to support the NSS DC Representative as well as
the creation of briefing materials, the development of training materials, the administration of training sessions,
and other costs associated with the March Storm and Fall Fury programs. For additional information, visit the
